Finding my writer’s voice – A poem

How predictable,
those stuck patterns
ploughed deep.
Pathways fashioned from fear
in a fuddled brain
founded on the dull pain
Of a child’s poor parenting.
Reductive habits
that keep me small
Stuck, shut tight
on a blank page,
With a NO of defeat.

With a YES to write
from flexibility and flow,
fresh shoots of stimulation
spring up to grow
new buds of curiosity.
A flowering of courage,
brings innovating juices
freed from those cages
of anxious reaction.
I choose life now,
in full colour spectrum.
Beginning anew –

With the magic of words.
